A Brooklyn judge has ruled that the kosher hot dog stands at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, can be open on Shabbat. But it’s not what you think. This isn’t the Mets forcing the stand to be open on Shabbat. It, in fact, is the exact opposite. The Mets must have been worried that they would lose their kosher-eating clientele if their kosher hot dog stands were open on Friday night and Saturday day. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have banned Kosher Sports Inc. from serving their hot dogs on Shabbat.
