J’lem man indicted for aiding Hamas

Jerusalem District Court indicted a 22-year-old man with contacting a foreign agent Monday, and charged him for working with Hamas to gather intelligence on Israeli sites. According to the indictment, the Beit Tsafafa resident Ahmad Awad became acquainted with Hamas operatives during a period of academic study in Cyprus in 2008.

He was then allegedly recruited into the Muslim Brotherhood by the Hamas militants, who promised to pay part of his university tuition and living expenses in exchange for information and reports on assorted topics.
