It is a highlight and a centerpiece of any visit to Israel. When I miss it I feel a profound void and emptiness about not taking advantage of being so close. I hear it from friends and I see it on the faces of strangers as I scour and pan the Kotel area on any given morning or evening. Just last week, while I was in Israel, the news was broadcast at the top of the hour that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas was conceding that in any part of a future peace deal.
