Choosing to Be an Ethical Parent

| |

Oh, if there were only a list of good and right things that as parents we would be required to incorporate into our child’s upbringing.  A small, neatly written list attached to one of those adorable baby toes would be so convenient.

So you were given this incredible gift (the baby) and perhaps people threw you a baby shower, giving you a stroller, clothes, a bouncy thing and baby bathtub.  Then you were left to raise the child.  Wouldn’t it be great if Babies R Us sold an ethical framework to buy for a parent?  One that stretched and grew as the kid grew older?  If Babies R Us sold that, our lives would be much easier.  Who sits and thinks about which ethics and values they want to share with their kids?
