Annual Law Enforcement Meeting With Jewish Officials Over Catskills Summer Migration

Relations between law enforcement and the religious Jewish community have never been better and with that spirit of cooperation, police top brass from across the region met with Hasidic leaders in the Village of Kiryas Joel on Monday.

As that cooperation improves every summer, the number of incidents that arise decreases dramatically with no issues at all last summer, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty.

Rabbi Bernard Freilich, the retired state liaison to the Jewish community, noted the prayer of public is for all police officers to return safely to their families each night.
