Police officers wearing riot gear, descended on Zuccotti Park just after midnight Tuesday in a surprise sweep of the Occupy Wall Street headquarters. The sweep came two days ahead of a planned massive demonstration.

It’s not clear on how fully recovered Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is ten months after the shooting accident. In her first interview, Rep. Giffords gave clipped one word answers saying that she was doing pretty good so far.
