Hurricane Irene Continues To Move Toward East Coast, Posing Serious Threat

Hurricane Irene weakened overnight from Category 3 to Category 2 but still kept its course toward the East Coast. It was on track to bring its heaviest punch to the Tri-State Area Sunday.

A Hurricane Watch indicates that a hurricane conditions – meaning sustained winds of 74 mph or greater – are possible within 48 hours.
