Hikind & OU Pressure White House To Aid Ostreicher

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is working with the Orthodox Union (OU) to add additional pressure to the White House on behalf of Jacob Ostreicher, a Brooklyn resident who has now been incarcerated in Bolivia for more than a year without being charged with a crime.

Over the last few days, the Assemblyman has met with Rabbi Steven Burg, the OU’s Managing Director and International Director of NCSY; Michael Cohen, the OU’s NY State Political Director; and Nathan J. Diament, Director ofthe OU’s Institute for Public Affairs.

“The OU assured me that they are committed to helping Jacob Ostreicher,” said the Assemblyman. “They are adding the weight of the 800 synagogues that they represent across America to this burning issue: The freeing of an innocent man.”
