Brie? No thanks, I’ll take some Jewish food

This Shabbos, our hostess served us a special treat she had bought at the supermarket, a tiny jar of caviar. As I expected, it was revolting. Really, it was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever put in my mouth. And this is coming from someone who used to eat sticks, and lunch bags.

As a kid I had some cultured friends who ate exotic foods, and drank fancy drinks. When I ate by their houses, I was usually told to try them to ‘develop a taste’. My poor boy’s palate needed to be matured to really enjoy life. When I told my parents about being served all these bessereh foods, they were thrilled. They told me to eat whatever I was served. Unfortunately, it seems this has all failed.
