Busy.  “Officially busy”.  Meaning too busy to date anyone but a certain someone else.  Meaning the death knell to singlehood, whether it be his, hers or yours (IY”H by you, of course).

Beginner’s Busy: One bochur I know panicked in one of his recent encounters and told a girl that he was busy, but with his upcoming finals week, thereby allowing her to believe that he’d …

I made my first gay shidduch

I don’t have that many frum gay friends, I count them all on one hand, so when I thought of the current shidduch I wasn’t working with much. I had mentioned it to both of the people involved some time ago and it just so happened that one of them was going to be visiting the others city so I figured on setting them up to meet.

Kind of like the out of town single girl who gets set up …

I made a comment yesterday about how I wouldn’t date the girl who posted the shidduch resume, but I would be down with making out and I’m sure most anyone would, why not, a little tongue slurping with some cute girl is always fun – I happened to have been fooling around.

I don;t just make out with random girls – I find kissing to be incredibly romantic and …

Rabbi: Seculars ignited Shabbat protests

Shabbat protests have returned to Jerusalem, but it seems that even the members of the Eda Haredit faction, which organizes them, are at odds over their necessity.

Fine you’re a matchmaker!

My. G-d.  What have I gotten myself into? Nervous as you can possibly imagine, I called this shadchan (“she is NOT a shadchan”) on the insistence of my friend’s mother (“Oh please, don’t call me Mrs. Bornstein! Just call me Rebbetzin Mrs. Bornstein!”), and had been listening for the past ten minutes straight as the highly-acclaimed holder of the keys to courtship dutifully …

Speaking during a Halacha lesson in Jerusalem last week, the rabbi warned that Jews …

The Star-K will no longer pay you to marry older girls

The Star-K’s shidduch incentive program was hailed as brilliant when it first hit the mean streets of Baltimore. Girls are so much easier than guys!

To set up that is, I’m constantly thinking about people I can set up and I have come to the conclusion that girls are so much easier to set up than guys. In fact, while checking my hot bod out in spandex today I was thinking that the shidduch crisis may be more about the lack of guys who actually go out, rather than the amount of them. I have loads of single guy friends, but they are …

The real reason why movies are assur

I was joking tonight with a friend of mine who lives in a small town and will be hosting a girl he’s shidduch dating for about a week and about how the Rabbi wouldn’t be so into him going to the movies with her because it’s untznius. He said he doesn’t go to movies anyway, but that the Rabbi wasn’t necessarily against movies per se, but he didn’t really get what I meant.
