A New English Translation of the Text, Rashi, and a Commentary Digest. The Hebrew text has been faithfully translated into concise, but modern, idiomatic language. Rabbi Rosenbeg’s precise translation, in which accuracy is the byword, is based principally on Rashi’s commentary, which is the primary focus of the text.
The Commentary Digest presents Rashi’s commentary verbatim in it’s entirety, as explained by leading super-commentaries such as Mizrachi and Gur Aryeh. It also includes all rabbinic sources from talmudic and midrashic literature. The other featured commentaries include the Ramban, Sforno, Rashbam, and Ibn Ezra, as well as the Ohr Hachayim.
